 Visiting Rotarians

     Rockport President Janelle Favaloro, Rob Audano, Christine Marek, and Peter Webber were all visiting from the Rockport Club.

 

  Guests of Rotarians

     Terri Jones had her daughter as her guest today.  Bob Ryan had Mark Harmon as his guest today.  Julie Lafontaine had a guest today, and Ruth Pino had Maude Ryan as her guest today. 

 

Interact Club

The Interact Club had two members present at today's meeting;  Jake Kelly spoke.    

 

Makeups

    Rotarians can now make up on line. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries

   

    Terri Jones, and Howard Frisch  both celebrated their birthdays today.  Josh Arnold is celebrating 24 "wonderful" years of marriage.  Tony Corrao is celebrating the interesting tidbit that 38 years ago he drove a school bus, and one of the passengers on his route was Rockport Rotary President Janelle FavaloroDave Stotzer is celebrating the 22nd anniversary of Cape Ann Photography. 

 

 Vacations

 

 Brad Pierce was happy to have participated in an inn keeper room swap.  Brad and wife Lynn landed a stay at the Colonial Inn in Concord, Massachusetts.  David Corbin took 2 days vacation.  Julie Geary enjoyed three days on Cape Cod.

 

Happy Thoughts

 

     Maggie Rosa was happy the City Hall Restoration Committee received $500 in the Bank Gloucester promotion.  City Hall received 233 votes.  Roger Corbin had some great news to share, he is now cancer free.  Sinikka Nogelo was happy to show off her Rotary scarf.  Rick Doucette was happy that he did not have to take a school bus driven by Tony Coraro.  Brad Pierce was happy that 20 years ago he started Teddy Bear Tuesday, and it is still a vital Rotary event.  Rudy Macchi was happy that Terri Jones' classification speech was the best he has ever heard.  Rudy was also happy that the club is donating to the Rotary Rose Parade Float.  Rudy went to Pasadina to work on the Rotary Float  in 1992.  Julie Lafontaine was happy that Roger Corbin is the Food Pantry's coupon guy every Friday. Julie was also happy that the Food Pantry received a $13,000 grant from the Walk for Hunger event held every year the first Sunday in May. Julie Lafontaine is willing to teach Rudy to cook one thing so he can put the recipe in our upcoming Rotary Club Cookbook  Christopher Farmer was happy his phone was on vibrate during our meeting. 

 

Fines

 

     Terri Jones was fined for having her photo in paper.  Rotarians that are also member of the Elks were fined. 

 

Club News

Here’s lunch for the next several weeks!

 

October  13    Italian sausage or hot dogs with peppers and onions, roasted potatoes, green beans, salad.  Pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.

October  20   Pot Roast Dinner, Irish lemon cake for dessert.

October  27   Acorn squash stuffed with chicken and risotto, salad and cupcakes for dessert.

 

November 03   Soup and sandwich.  Lemon meringue pie for dessert.

November 10   Turkey dinner, pie for dessert.(This meeting is in City Hall Auditorium).

November 17   Chicken Picatta with rice and salad.  Apple crisp for dessert.

 Save the Date

 

 October 20 is Lobster Bear Tuesday.  Rotarians are requested to come to our meeting with a new teddy bear. 

 Interact Lobster Roll fundraiser is October 22 and 23.  Sign up sheets will be available on the tables at Rotary. 

 

 

ABC of Rotary Moment

 Ann-Margaret Ferrante is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Meredith Fine  is first backup, Howard Frisch is the second backup, and the third backup is John Morris. Please have your  ABC of Rotary Moment  ready.

 


Winners and Losers:    Sue Ellis gave the Rotary Moment today.  Jim Cooke won the $10.00, Janelle Favaloro won the flowers, and no winners in the card raffle today.

 

Speaker today:  Terri Jones gave her classification speech today.
