Jim Perry went to California, Don Sudbay went to the Ryder Cup.

Happy Thoughts

Sue Todd was happy to report the Pathway's for Children lobster sculpture auction grossed over $147,000.00.  Jim Marr was happy to have participated in the Jimmy Fund's Walk that is sponsored by the Massachusetts Police Chiefs.  Mike Linquata was happy the state did come through with $65,000 in funding for the World War II Memorial.  Ruth Pino was happy to have her office raise $2200 for cancer research.  Bruce Horne was happy with the fundraiser he participated for the Junior Achievement Organization.  Cheryl Collins was happy that WBOQ sent over enough coffee and doughnuts for 45 employees at Ocean Optical.  The 45 was a typo, it should have read 4--5 employees.  So it was doughnuts and coffee for employees and customers for the day!

Fines

Sue Todd paid yet another fine for a lobster photo appearing in the Globe.  Charlene Glynn was fined for running an illegal taxi service with her husband this weekend. Late fine for anybody who has not paid their placemat ads for the Pancake Breakfast.  Leo Bergeron was fined for running the bank's clock on Rogers street (which is 15 minutes off), making anyone who checks the time 15 minutes late. President Joe fined all Rotarians who have not sponsored a new member since July 1, 2003.

    Club New

Thank You Alex Delis for taking notes for this Rotator

Brad Pierce is organizing this year's Past Presidents' Banquet.  The date is Thursday, September 30th, at the Hearthside in  Essex.  Cocktails and a group photo are at 5:30, and dinner at 6:00 PM.  Cost is $28.00 per person.  Past Presidents are being asked to speak briefly about 1) the most memorable moment of their year, and 2) the funniest incident that occurred during their presidency.

October 7 is the date for the Gloucester / Rockport Rotary Golf Match.  This highly significant grudge match (take no prisoners) is all in fun (not). Check with our Chief Grudge Master David McKechnie and his two partners crime, Bruce Horne and Bob Ryan, for details.

 Stage Fort Park Centennial Project

Please consider signing on as a sponsor!  Gold is $1000, Silver $650, Bronze $400.  All sponsors will be acknowledged on a display at the playground.

Winners and Losers... Alex Delis won the beverage of choice. John Dugger won the money, and Leo Bergeron won the flowers.  Barry Pett won today in the card raffle, and will split $850 with the club.

Speakers.... Maud Warren spoke to the club about the Harvest Meals Program and how much she appreciates the help the Interact Club gives every Tuesday, and the donation we give once a month. President Joe ran a business meeting today.

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on salad and chicken parmesan.  The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars.  When asked what would improve the meal the diners had no suggestions.
