Happy Thoughts

Sal Frontiero was happy the YMCA Restaurant Tasting Fundraiser held recently at CruisePort went well  Ruger Hussey was happy to attend the Downtown Block Party.  Brad Pierce was still giddy from attending his step-daughter's wedding held recently at Fenway Park.  (The wedding party then went to a fine bistro for libations and food to the tune of $70,000.) OK  Brad, where are the picture's?   Julie Geary was happy  the Lone Gull Road Race had over 1000  runners.  Julie was also happy to have  catered the food. Greg Bover was happy with the the 15th annual Soap Box Derby being another success, and  at having 31 cars participating.  Julie LaFontaine was happy  her husband had his first surgery and all went well.  Dave Stotzer was happy to have finally hooked a 30 inch stripped bass after many years of trying.  Christopher Farmer fell in love with Ray Lamont after reading his Glouceseter Times Editorial concerning the charter school.  Ruth Pino was happy to have attended her first Interact meeting of the year.  Don Sudbay Jr. was happy to have his team win at the Bass Rocks Golf Club.  (Don, did winning bring some financial benefits?)

Fines

Howard Frisch paid two finds today.  One concerning the Pancake Breakfast and one fine concerning Rockport.  President Ruth fined members, who were Rotarians when the membership was all men and no women were allowed to join at that time.  By way of review, a fashion show was held in  lieu of a speaker that day.  The fashion show title was "Naughty Nighties, " with  young women were parading Victoria Secret type merchandise.  (Yes, a real low point in our club history, and reaffirms the theory that all men are pigs.)  Current members who were  in attendance that day were Mike Costello, David Marsh, Mike Linquata, and Brad Pierce.

Club News

President Ruth inducted a new member, John Morse.  John was sponsored by Eric Noble.

The Cape Ann Animal Shelter's Rebecca Bayless accepted a check for the shelter today.
