      Alex Delis had Courtney Ellis Peckham, our guest speaker today, as his guest.

 

Interact Club

     Interact members visiting today were Elise McNiff, President, Emily Pecora, Vice President, Jill Coorey, Secretary, and Emma Delphin, Treasurer.  Interact Club activities for this coming school year include working the Harvest Meals program every Tuesday at Saint Ann's, a car wash, Lobster Roll Project on Oct 23 & 24, O'Maley Art, and reading night at Fuller School. 

 

Makeups

      No makeups were reported today.

 

Happy Thoughts

      Bruce Horne was happy to attend a function for the Junior Achievement Golf Tournament held at Wentworth by the Sea in Rye, New Hampshire.

      Sue Todd was happy her daughter just purchased a Sudbay vehicle big enough to hold her family.

      Cheryl Collins was happy to be one of the first on her block to hold her son's 12th  birthday party at the new Bowling Center.

       Sinikka Nogello was happy her nephew Michael was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of fame.

        Jim Marr was happy to have had the opportunity to participate in the Jimmy Fund's 14th Massachusetts Police Chief relay race.  Jim was happy to still be breathing.

        Bob O'Maley was happy his wife Linda's cancer is in remission.  Joe Ciolino presented the flowers (from Audreys) to Linda O'Maley to celebrate the good news.

    

Anniversaries & Birthdays

      David McKechnie, our birthday boy, was not present.  No anniversaries were reported today.

    

Fines

       Acting President Joe Ciolino fined Josh Arnold for a "women are bad drivers" e-mail.

       Pin fines were assessed again today.

       Fines for not handing in your high school photo to Cheryl Collins were dolled out.  The fines this week are up to $3.00, so please bring in your photo.  This is a fun exercise, please lets not make it difficult for Cheryl.    

Vacations

       Howard Frisch went to Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. John Dugger stayed in Gloucester.

 Steve Kaity went to North Conway. Sue Todd went to Washington, DC. Rick Doucette went to Vermont.

    

A Rotary Moment

    The next Rotary Moment will be given by Neil Mathews followed by the week after by Jim McKenna and Karl Muench.

 

Club News

    Thank you Sinikka for taking notes for me today! ....Joe

    Howard Frish gave a short report concerning the Pancake Breakfast.  The event netted a profit of $3900.00,  the largest profit ever.  Howard thanked all who participated for an excellent time.


Winners and Losers... Sal Fronterio won the beverage of choice. Marc Sandler won the money, and the flowers were given to Linda O'Maley.  No winners today in the card raffle.

 

Speakers....  Program Chair Alex Delis introduced our guest speaker, Courtney Ellis Peckham, from the Essex Shipbuilding Museum. Courtney talked about the Gertrued L Thebaud and the museum.

 

Lunch Rating...   Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on baked fish and a dessert.  The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars.  When asked what would improve the meal the dinners had no suggestions.
