Rotarians can now make up on line. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup. Please hand your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.
Birthdays & Anniversaries
No birthdays were reported today. Howard Frisch was happy to announce his anniversary of first coming to Gloucester. Howard came to town on September 1st, 1980. Pat Thorpe was happy to be celebrating 15 "wonderful" years of marriage. Sal Frontiero was happy to be celebrating 9 "wonderful" years of marriage. Brad Pierce was happy to be attending his 40th high school class reunion. (All the girls were impressed with Brad's MG and remarked that he still had his boyish good looks.... Not!)
Vacations
Leo Bergeron spent 4 days in Pittsburg, New Hampshire, and President Sinikka also went on vacation.
Happy Thoughts
Jim Marr was happy the Red Sox won, that a small house fire was contained, and that getting stung by some yellow jackets earned him a trip from the rescue squad to the hospital. All went well, and Jim is just fine now. Howard Frisch was happy to go to a wedding in Flint, Michigan. John Dugger was happy that his "optical migraines" were solved by our former member, Cheryl Collins. David Slade was happy to be celebrating his daughter's one year wedding anniversary. David was also happy to have take a Boston Island tour, and happy to have taken the rest of the week off. Ruth Pino was happy to have attended the free concert at Stage Fort Park. Christopher Farmer had three happy thoughts. Sue Todd was happy with the collaboration of Pathways and the Gloucester Public Schools.
Fines
President Sinikka fined Joe Parisi and Ruth Pino for photos in the paper.
Club News
President Sinikka presented to Sue Todd, representing Pathways, a check for $1000.00. Helen McCabe and Dona Pollizia, representing the Burial Ground Committee, received a $500.00 check. The funds were part of last year's distribution.
ABC of Rotary Moment
Jon Morse is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Eric Noble is first backup, Dan Ottenheimer is the second backup, and the third backup is Joe Parisi. Please have your ABC of Rotary Moment ready.
Winners and Losers... David McKechnie gave one of the worst ABC of Rotary Moments today. Sal Frontiero won the money, and Brad Pierce won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Steve Kaity presented our speakers for the day, JJ Bell, Kathy Lehan, and Sandy Rowan.The group spoke about the Community Preservation Act.
