Happy Thoughts
The always entertaining Bob Thrasher was happy to be a grandfather again.
Rudy Macchi was also happy to be a grandfather again. Congrats to both Bob and Rudy.
John Dugger and daughter Sam are very happy that the bowling alley is now open again.
Mike Costello was happy Northwestern won it's game.( Nebraska did, also!)
Barry Pett was happy that all went well for the visit of the Navy destroyer Oscar Austin during its visit for the schooner festival.
Rick Doucette was happy that the Y sponsored Cape Ann Road Race went well.
Tony Carrao was happy to have the "Clean City Kids Program" go well this summer. The residents and visitors of Gloucester certainly could see the difference in the cleanliness of our city during its busiest time of the year. Congrats to you and the kids for continuing such a important program for our city. Tony was also happy to have been invited to brunch on the Oscar Austin when it was in port, and was proud to remember to wear a tie for the event.

No birthdays were reported today. Pat Thorpe reported he and his wife are celebrating 10 "wonderful" years of marriage. David Babson reported that he and Val are celebrating 31 "wonderful years of marriage." Sal Fronterio is celebrating 4, and Don Sudbay Jr. is celebrating 7 "wonderful" years of marriage.
Fines
President Greg fined Barry Pett's table for talking business during lunch. Barry was fined for "dropping a dime" on his table mates.
Vacations
John Dugger vacationed on the "other cape"
Catherine Henry went camping in the Sierra Mountains.
George Roark vacationed at the Wentworth by the Sea Resort.

Sinikka Nogelo went to the Hamptons.
Ruth Pino vacationed on Good Harbor Beach.
David McKechnie spent the week diving, bluefish fishing, and buzzing the destroyer Oscar Austin with his boat.

Club News
The Gloucester vs.. Rockport Golf Outing is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 25th at 1 P.M. at the Rockport Golf Club. The Cost is yet to be determined. Please sign up with Bruce Horne. Ringers even remotely associated with our club have been accepted in the past. This is a must-win competition. Loosing is not an option!
Winners and Losers...Steve Kaity won the beverage of choice. Ruth Pino won the money, and George Roark won the flowers. No winners today in the card raffle.
Speakers.... Dr. Charlene D. Glynn, Optometrist, gave her classification speech today.
Lunch Rating... Meals will be rated by 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best. Today we dined on salad and baked fish The dinners at my table gave the food 5 stars. When asked what would improve the meal the dinners suggested larger portions.
