 Interact Club

   The Interact members present today are Erica Aiello, Kayle Burke, and Erie Germenji.  Erica spoke about the Lobster Roll Fundraiser to be held October 22nd and 23rd. 

 

Makeups

     Sinikka Nogelo made up on line.

    Rotarians can now make up on line. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries

   Bill Flygare, and David McKechnie celebrated their birthdays today.  Bill also is celebrating 45 "wonderful" years of marriage. 

 

Vacations

   Roger Corbin visited Block Island, David Slade went to Baxter State Park, Greg Bover took 2 days off to explore  the Trustee's of Reservation properties.  Bruce Horne also went on vacation. 

 

 

Happy Thoughts

   John Dugger had a blueberry Happy Thought.  Tony Corrao was happy  his grandchildren came for a visit.  Tony was happy no one was hurt when he hit the light house sitting in the middle of Dock Square in Rockport.  Jon Morse was happy  the Patriots won on Sunday.  Jon was very happy that his wife Carol's pathology tests all came back negative.  (Jon that is one very happy thought!)  David Slade was happy to have received 2 box seat tickets to see the Red Sox.  Julie LaFontaine was happy to have cut a deal with Beauport Ambulance to transport clients to the Food Bank.  Julie was also happy  her husband's first surgery went so well that the second one will be done sooner that expected.  Someone had a happy thought that the elevator in the Lutheran Church is complete.  Roger Hussey also had a happy thought. 

 

Fines

   President Ruth had a fine for wearing white after Labor Day.  All Rotarians who were wearing white shirts were fined today.  Tea drinkers, Howard Frisch, and Mike Sarraf were fined today.  Tony Coraro was fined for not sitting with his niece today.  President Ruth fined Rotarians who were not wearing black today. 

 

 

Club News

Here’s Lunch for the next several weeks

October  06    Roast pork with potato and gravy, candied carrots and salad.  Jello and whipped cream for dessert.  We are meeting at the Harbor Room on Norwood Court off of East Main Street. The Elks need the room for a  funeral colation of a Past Exaulted Ruler.  

October  13    Italian sausage or hot dogs with peppers and onions, roasted potatoes, green beans, salad.  Pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.

October  20   Pot roast dinner, Irish lemon cake for dessert.

October  27   Acorn squash stuffed with chicken and risotto, salad, and cupcakes for dessert.

 

November 03 Soup and sandwich.  Lemon meringue pie for dessert.

November 10 Turkey dinner, pie for dessert. (This meeting is in City Hall Auditorium)

November 17 Chicken Picatta with rice and salad.  Apple crisp for dessert.

 Sheree DeLorenzo is up for next Tuesday's ABC of Rotary Moment, Sue Ellis  is first backup, Ann-Margaret Ferrante is the second backup, and the third backup is John Morris. Please have your  ABC of Rotary Moment  ready.

 


Winners and Losers:    Christopher Farmer gave the Rotary Moment today.  Rick Doucette won the $10.00, John Dugger won the flowers, and Rick Doucette won  the card raffle today.

 

Speaker today:   Ed Collard introduced our speaker today, Alli O'Connor.  Alli spoke about the Sail Gloucester Program scheduled for next July 4, 2010.
