     Interact members present today.

Makeups

     David Slade made up at Interact, Shirley Conway made up on line, and Don Sudbay Jr. made up in Rockport.     

    Rotarians can now make up on line.  Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted. 

 Birthdays & Anniversaries

     David McKechnie, Joe Parisi, and Bill Flygare all celebrated their birthdays today.  Bill and Joyce Flygare are celebrating 44 "wonderful" years of marriage.  Jon Morse was happy that his was leaving for a vacation tomorrow. 

Vacations

    Rick Doucette reported a trip to Florida.  Matt Langis took a long hop to Africa, visiting Kenya for 10 days.  David Slade went to Martha's Vineyard.  Don Sudbay Jr. went to Naples, Florida.  Steve Dexter went to North Adams, Massachusetts.   John Dugger also took a vacation. 

Happy Thoughts

    Mike Costello is happy his Wild Cats are  now 5 - 0.  Steve Kaity was happy the  latest Chamber $25,000.00 raffle finally went to the dogs.  The winner of the big ticket was a dog!   The owner put her pet's name of the ticket because the dog is one lucky pooch.  David McKechnie was happy because as of last Tuesday, he was still in business.  ( David runs a financial service company.) Steve Kaity was happy, I do not think so,  by having Steve Dexter triple his insurance as soon as his 16 1/2 year old started driving. Jon Morse was happy and relieved that the driver directly in front of him (who was hydroplaning on the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge) had all their passengers safely buckled in when they hit a guard rail and the doors on the car flew open.  Jon acknowledged Jim Marr's wisdom for being so insistent on Rotarians wearing seat belts.

 Fines

   President Sinikka fined Pat Thorpe for a photo in the Gloucester Daily Times.

    The Past Presidents Dinner is coming up, all Rotarians are invited - not just Past Presidents.  Please join the group and relive some of the experiences that past club presidents had to deal with during their term.  Most are funny 5 or 10 years later.

     Eric Noble is up for next Tuesday's  ABC of Rotary Moment,  Dan Ottenheimer is first backup, Barry Pett is the second backup, and the third backup is John Rando. Please have your   ABC of Rotary Moment ready. 

Winners and Losers...  Brad Pierce gave an ABC of Rotary Moment.  Matt Langis won the money, and Sal Frontiero won the flowers.  No winners today in the card raffle.

Speakers....  Steve Kaity introduced our speaker today, Dr. Bill Goodwin, the Interim Principal at Gloucester High School.  Bill updated everybody about goings on at the school.
